STI Market Review

  • Singapore shares opened higher on Wednesday with the Straits Times Index up by 10.9 points at 2,901.07 and ended 42.90 points or 1.48% higher to 2928.20. STI came off from its intra-day peak of 2931.65 and low of 2890.84. 
  • Singapore registered gains at noon as a strong performance in US stocks overnight and in other Asian markets during the morning boosted local trading sentiment.

Market Forecast

  • STI is expected to take side ways trend with positive sentiment as more stimulus measures taken from Beijing after China's economy released data that showed imports shrank more than expected. 
  • It has its resistance level is at 2946. If it breaks this level it is expected to go up to level of 2988, it has its support at 2877.
